قیدها فعل را توصیف می کنند.
۱- قیدهای یک سیلابی مانند صفات با (er) تفصیلی و (est)عالی می شوند.

Hard==>harder==>hardest
Fast==>faster==>fastest

2-ولی قیدهای دو سیلابی با افزودن (ly)تبدیل به قید شده و سپس با (more)تفصیلی و با (the most)عالی شده و بقیه قیدهای چند بخشی با(more)و(the most)به قیود تفصیلی و عالی تبدیل می شوند.

3-برای ساختن قید متساوی از رابطه (asقیدas)استفاده می شود.


طبقه بندی قیدهاclassification of adverbs
قیدها بر حسب کاری که در جمله انجام می دهند بر چند نوعند.

۱-قید زمان adverb of time
این قیدها زمان وقوع کاری را بیان می کنند.

محل قرار گرفتن قیود زمان:

۲/ قیدهای مکان adverb of plsce
این قیود محل انجام کاری را نشان می دهند.

قیود مکان معمولا بعد از فعل ذکر می شوند.

۳- قید های حالت Adverb of maner
این قیود چگونگی انجام کاری را می رساند و اغلب به ly ختم می شوند که اغلب این قیود بعد از فعل می آیند ولی اگر فعل دارای مفعول باشد بعد از مفعول قرار می گیرد.

Slowly- quickly- happily

بعضی از قیود در حالت صفت و قید یک شکل دارند و از روی کاری که انجام می دهند می توان آنها را تشخیص داد.

Back- fast – hard

قیدهای حالت، در حالت تاکید اگر یک کلمه باشند مستقیماً بعد از فاعل می آیند.

There are many taxis in Tehran. You can usually fine a taxi in a few minutes but sometimes you must be patient.

“Piano” is a direction to indicate to the musicians that they should play softly or quietly.
My uncle works hard.
Our math teacher teaches well.
-Shima is vegetarian but I saw her eating meat.
-yes, she rarely eats meat but sometimes she makes an exception.
I speak less fluently than my friend.
We often used to shop there.
They almost never go on summer vacation.
Beginning students of a foreign language don’t speak quickly, but that’s ok but at this level, communication is more important.

It always rains on the weekends.
